Diagnostic Imaging: At Walker Veterinary Hospital we use radiology to assess internal conditions since we often need a view of particular organs to better diagnose and treat our companions’ conditions.  Our doctors routinely interpret these radiographs (also known as x-rays) in-house.

Laboratory Diagnostics: Unfortunately our companions can’t always let us know exactly where they are hurting.  By performing routine hematological profiles we are able to better understand disease processes and the health maintenance needs of your pets.  This is also essential for optimal preventative care screening prior to surgical services and in understanding particular needs of the life stage of your companion.

Surgical & Anesthesia Services:  The doctors perform routine surgeries including spay, neuter, dental prophylaxis, and tumor removals on a regular basis.  Thorough pre-anesthetic screening is performed to ensure your companion’s safety before initiating any surgical procedure.

Chronic Pain Management Program:  In the interest of supporting a high quality of life for your companions, we will work with your loved ones to produce a sensible protocol for pain management, whether that pain be instigated by medical procedures, chronic arthritis, or other various causes.

Hospice Care:  When your companion’s health begins to deteriorate our doctors are here to provide you with each and every available option to continue the highest quality of life possible.  If humane euthanasia is the best option for your loved one, we will be here to counsel you and offer you the most peaceful process possible.  We will also work with you for final arrangements for your beloved pet. 

Behavior Counseling:  Since our companions can’t express themselves with language, animals often exhibit negative behaviors when they are trying to tell us something.  We will work with your pet to establish guidelines and introduce veterinary behavioral psychology into your companion’s life.

Nutrition Counseling: What you are is what you eat, and we truly believe that this theory holds true for our furry friends as well as our own selves.  We will work one-on-one with our patients to discuss and institute proper nutrition through a well-balanced meal program to keep your companions healthy.

Feline Boarding Facility: In additional to top quality veterinary care, our facility offers full-time, year-round boarding for cats.  Our kennel staff showers every boarder with love and attention during their stay. 

Before your feline can be boarded, you will need to provide documentation on the following:

1. current RCCP vaccination
2. current Virulent Calici vaccination
3. current Feline Leukemia vaccination (or testing within 1 year's time)
4. current Rabies vaccination
5. FIV tested in the past year

To prevent flea infestation, a cap star wil be administered the first day of boarding.
